About Shri Harinam Press

Shri Harinam Press was founded in 1969 by Shri Shyam Lal Hakim, also known as Vrajavibhuti Shri Shyamdas, a practicing doctor and prolific author on Gaudiya Vaishnava philosophy.

The unit provides customers with a strong support structure across an extensive range of printing services. Absolute commitment to quality, meticulous attention to detail and a close relationship with customers remain the foundation of the press.

Founder

Vrajavibhuti Shri Shyamdas

Shri Shyamdas, born Shri Shyam Lal Hakim on 3 February 1921 at Dera Gazi Khan (now in Pakistan), came to Vrindaban in 1947. He was a Unani doctor by profession, a pure Gaudiya Vaishnava, and a dedicated author, translator and publisher.

He took initiation from Prabhupada Shrila Devakinandan Goswami Maharaj of Shringarvat, loved Sankirtan, learned Bengali in Vrindaban and translated important Bengali books into Hindi with commentaries.

1921 Birth

Born on 3 February 1921 at Dera Gazi Khan, now in Pakistan.

1947 Vrindaban

Came to Vrindaban and settled here with his family.

1966 Writing and translation

Started writing, translating and commenting on Gaudiya Vaishnava literature.

1969 Press founded

Established Shri Harinam Press to print his own books, later serving wider religious publishing.

1971 Magazine started

Started Shri Harinam Magazine, which later became a monthly publication.

2005 Nikunjlila pravesh

Entered divine abode on 9 November 2005, Gopashtami, in Vrindaban.

Shri Harinam Monthly Magazine

The founder editor Shri Shyamdas started Shri Harinam Magazine in 1971. Initially it was published quarterly, and from 1974 it became monthly.

It contains religious articles, editorial writing, news from Vraja, life-sketches of great saints, poetry, Vaishnava festival lists and devotional quotes. It is published by Shri Harinam Sankirtan Mandal.
